Feather Down Moor Farm

What you should know about the park

Feather Down Moor farm is tremendously peaceful, at the end of the driveway you leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind you. There is plenty to do at the glamping farm, from a century-old vineyard to a herd of exceptional Gloucester cows grazing on the grass. The kids love playing hide-and-seek near the Tents. For the older ones, there is a canal 5 minutes away where there is great fishing and boating. If you do want to go out for the day there are many options in the immediate vicinity. Take a historic trip through beautiful Gloucester, a boat trip on the Severn, hiking in the west Cotswolds or cross the border into neighboring Wales.

Our 1st holiday as a blended family with mixed tweens and young teenagers. It had all the potential to be disastrous with no WiFi and totally off grid!! Hands down, it was the best experience we’ve all had for years. The kids felt free, independent - cooked for us, build fires, herded cattle, made pizzas, rode golf carts to the canal, fed goats, learnt to drive a tractor, played pool and tasted home made cider. They loved the farm tour which was very educational and it was a relief and a blessing to watch them interact and socialise in an environment that is so far from their home life, which tends to be geared around being inside and relying on their phones. Full disclosure; everyday they walked to the farmhouse to charge their mobiles and came back hours later having got caught up in the intrigue and fun of farm life. We assumed that once the phones were at 100% they’d kick back in the tent fully distracted and lost on social media, but the fire pit, marshmallows, the football and boules and the freedom to build, cook and talk was too tempting. We’d recommend to any family, couple pr group looking to reconnect with nature, emotions and the land. |Evenings were filled with games by candlelight around the table.

Wholesome weekend at moor farm. |It really is what you make of it - go explore, take part in the pizza night, do the farm tour! We loved it all, we loved how welcoming we were made to feel and free to roam around. The tents are rustic and have all you need - just need to take some extra lighting if you’ve got small ones and they wake through the night. It was all just fun! We loved the dogs and animals! Thank you for an enjoyable time

Care free kids and parental bliss.. a Featherdown farm that delivered beyond expectations. ||This was the 2nd/3rd annual Featherdown we have done as a group of families linked by school and enjoying a long inset weekend. We booked all 7 tents for our group. ||Having stayed at the East Shilvinghampton site last year, the bar was set very high! The setup is different, but with the differences comes more freedom for the kids to explore and go wild!||Tents look outwards (compared to the enclosed paddock of ES) and surround a small woodland where the kids can get lost doing their own thing. ES better for smaller children perhaps as parents can always see where they are. ||Our group’s kids were aged between 4-10. |All tents on Moor Farm have a shower, only 2 are directly e/s while rest are a type of nature shower next door to the tent. ||We felt the team on site made a great effort to get involved and socialise. The pizza night was a great experience to get everyone together in the farmyard while your pizza creations are cooked to perfection by the on site chef/ son of Richard. Farm provided their cider to be enjoyed alongside, as well as some nice homemade Rocky Road!||I recommend the pizza night even if you’re rocking up with your own portable pizza oven to use back at the tent. You’re paying for the social on top of the service and the cider. |In the farm yard are many ride on toys for kids to use. Also goats to be fed! ||Swimming pool was a great bonus, as was the barn, where we set up a projector screen to watch some of the Euros, ping pong, bubble machines, music… ||Honesty shop at the yard was a 10min walk or just a drive away. ||Farm tour super informative. Worth a listen to what Richard is up to. You learn alot!||To Richard and Wendy - thank you for a great stay. Great service and a great welcome. ||We might be seeing you next summer!

We’ve just returned from the most incredible weekend at Moor Farm! Richard, Wendy, Matthew and the entire family are so welcoming, which is just the loveliest feeling when you’re basically in someone else’s home!||I traveled solo with my 2 children at the end of April - The weather wasn’t kind to us, but that didn’t matter! We had the best time even in the pouring rain. (Kids age 5 & 3) they loved the tent, loved playing in the woods, running along the grass, seeing all the animals, tractor rides, swimming, making pizza, playing with new friends - Honestly we all loved it all and wouldn’t have changed anything. It was great to have adult company too whilst I was traveling alone sp meeting new people was lovely.||It’s so nice being in the great outdoors, experiencing farm life and having a glimpse of what they do each day (they work so hard!)||The honesty shop was very well equipped and we used it each day (jelly snakes especially popular 😂)||It was all perfect and I think we’re now hooked on Featherdown farms.||Richard and family if you’re reading this - Thank you for such a special weekend and filling our hearts with nothing but pure joy! 🫶🏽
