My husband and I stay here with the camper, thank God our own fresh and clean camper because the toilet building is to whine, so dirty. We have been on a lot of campsites through the years, especially abroad, but we have never experienced such filth, that in the Netherlands and for Europarcs. So much mold, soap residue, body cobwebs, grease and overdue cleaning. The whole ladies area is closed 'because of cleaning work' which I think they could have done better 10 years ago. Therefore, everyone, ladies and gentlemen use the men's section. Bit strange, because nothing happens there. Lots of noise from air traffic. It is that we travel for work and are not there during the day. Absolutely not recommended.

Lived here in 2022 for three months in a chalet, from October to January. It's quiet there in winter. You can do some walking in the Amsterdam forest. After a few weeks you do get a bit bored with it and it starts to get cramped. It's quite pricey, even in the off-season. But then again, around Amsterdam it is expensive everywhere. So I recommend it for short duration ! It was clean everywhere, there were amenities like a laundry room and a small store. At the reception they were friendly. For good food you can do well in Amstelveen.

1. our little cabin We stayed in Cabin 204 in February 2025. All in all, it was fine. The heating worked and it was cozy and warm in the morning. Nevertheless, a warm blanket and hot water bottle made it easier for us to fall asleep. There is only one power socket, we had a distributor with us, which worked quite well. Bed linen was free, we just had to cover and remove it ourselves and take away the garbage and sweep out the hut at the end. Minus point: The beds are very worn and a chair simply collapsed when a 60 kg person sat on it. At least we had something to laugh about. 2. bike rental The bikes cost €15 per day. Example: We rented them at 5:30 pm and had to return them the next day before 11 am. Normal Dutch bikes and ride okay. You pay directly at reception for the length of time you want to hire the bikes. According to maps, it takes about 40 minutes to get to the center of Amsterdam. I don't know what speed Google maps uses as a guide, but it took us over 1 hour. To clarify, we are both in our mid-20s and had a moderate pace and didn't get lost. That's why we only rented the bikes for 2 days. 3. public transportation The connection to the center of Amsterdam is good, takes a little longer than 1 hour. Important to know: There are different public transportation networks, GVB, Conexxion and EBL. Accordingly, you need a ticket that is valid for all of them. There is a ticket machine in the park that sells the appropriate tickets. 4. reception and store The reception has fixed opening hours, check-in and check-out are uncomplicated. Some employees are friendly, others less so, as is the case in life. (Everyone has a bad day) In the store there is a microwave and a "panini grill" (you can see it in the picture). Unfortunately, there is no kettle. We had one ourselves. The store sells all kinds of snacks and drinks and the prices are okay. There is also a coffee machine...but it was never clean. I still got a coffee from there twice and didn't die. (But I can understand if there are people who find it very unappetizing) Also important to know, the store closes quite early, which means you can't get to the microwave if you want to heat up your dinner there. But there is still a barbecue outside, which is definitely cool in summer. 5. sanitary facilities Were not meticulously clean, but not as bad as you sometimes read here. The shower cubicles offered enough space and the fact that the shower only ran for 4 minutes was no drama. Just stop in between and soap up without running water. If you still have shampoo in your hair, you just have to wait another minute in the cold until the 4 minutes start all over again. Of course it's not luxurious, but it's not the end of the world either. Oh yes, you have to bring your own towels or you can rent some, I think it costs €7. There is no hairdryer, but we had one with us. To summarize It wasn't a luxury vacation, but you can't expect that for the price. It's a bit out of town, walks are wonderful, we didn't find the noise of airplanes dramatic. I might even go there again in summer, but I didn't particularly enjoy it in winter because it was just cold. Oh yes, we had left a small cool bag outside the hut to keep things cold. It was stolen on the very first night. If there had been beer in it, I would even have understood. But it was soy yogurt, carrots and tomatoes.
