We chose this campground obv its charming character & the gourmet restaurant described extensively on their website/ instagram account. And had chosen a safari tent Neanderthal (spot 18) which is advertised on the map as a spot with a/d across forest (no over neighbors) but only side neighbors. Upon arrival it turned out that tent 18 did have over neighbors and that there is no planting to create privacy and that you really are in a corner built in between your neighbors. This was not consistent with the campground map we had used to arrive at a choice of where to stay. We immediately shared this observed difference compared to the ad with the owner in order to find a possible solution. The owner made a very stressed impression on us, said that this was his best tent and that if we were not satisfied, we could take the car the next day and get our money back. This was said with verbal aggression, and personal problems (including work stress related, issues with finances and bank) were also shared unsolicited. Then we went to dinner with our children and here came the 2nd big disappointment, namely that it was no longer a gourmet restaurant because the chef had left unexpectedly. The menu included chicken nuggets/ burger with fries or a plate of raw vegetables. Not in line with the advertisement. Our choice, the trout filet, we were both served cold and completely raw. So we sent this back to the kitchen. The combination of misleading tent location & restaurant plus the aggressive behavior of the owner when raising our problem (who eventually still refused to return the money) made us decide to book a new campsite the following day. After some searching we found this one, and everyone is heartily happy. We reported our departure to the owner the day after checking in. Despite earlier promise from the owner that we would get our money back from the booking, this did not happen. For the second time, this was again participated with the necessary verbal abuse. Unfortunately, we were tempted to respond to this behavior by also raising voices, which makes everything extra unfortunate. We understand that the owner more often seeks his rapprochement in shouting and getting angry when criticized. And also that he rarely if ever gives money back when complaints are made. The behavior we experienced falls in line with this observation. There was email exchange where we made a second proposal to get a refund of half the cost. The owners did not want to do this, but suggested that the restaurant bill be crossed out. Again, this solution is obviously not sufficient. At this : one star.

Super vacation had, sweet campground owners, plumbing top clean, pool reasonably nice heated. Until next year

we stood with a caravan on a pitch, but one of the most beautiful in the entire area and with the nicest owners and employees we have ever encountered on a campsite. we have been going to camping Le Pech Charmant for years, sometimes twice a year. the food is delicious and the sanitary facilities are fantastically clean. The swimming pool is nice and not cold in april/ may till september

Old-fashioned bungalow, hot water impossible to regulate (boiling or freezing were the 2 possibilities), exterior of bungalow not cleaned, swimming pool and snack bar kitchen purposely NOT sanitary, lady at reception very unpleasant and disdainful because we speak to her in French. Don't forget that if someone speaks to you in French, it's possible that they'll still understand Dutch, and your remark "Ah, noch ne frans" with its air of contempt, goes down very badly.
