General information We've been to Europarcs before, but this was our first time at Park Hoge Kempen. The two of us spent a night on the campsite in a caravan. With the ACSI card you save some money and can have a good time in the park, which also offers camping pitches that are open in winter. The park mainly offers rental accommodation (cottages/lodges etc.) and just under 50 tent/caravan pitches (up to 6 people per pitch). The park has many playgrounds, sports fields, mini golf, a brasserie, a (closed) water playground and an indoor playground. There is a (closed) outdoor swimming pool a short distance away and you can visit the De Kimpel indoor swimming pool free of charge on Saturdays and Sundays. In November there was hardly anything going on at the weekend and it was pleasantly empty. We will definitely be back. Pitch We opted for comfort L pitch no. B44. It is right next to the sanitary building. The car can be parked right next to the tent/caravan. The pitch is pleasantly large and has a 10 amp electricity connection, water connection and waste water drainage. Although it was already November, the water was still open. The waste disposal point is at the entrance to the park and not easy to reach on foot. There is also a disposal point for motorhomes at the front near the reception. There is a sanitary building with washing machines/dryers, disposal points for chemical toilets, WCs, washbasin showers and washing-up areas. The building is open all year round and is heated. It was pleasantly large, clean and modern. The shower time is set with a timer, but there is no waiting time if you want to turn it on again afterwards. The water only runs for about 20 seconds and is quite hot. You can't set a desired temperature. The building is supposedly only open until 10pm, but was accessible around the clock. Service The check-in was friendly and smooth, we even received a great Halloween card game as a gift. We booked the campsite directly on site with the ACSI Card without making a reservation in advance. There are no reservation fees and we were allowed to choose our preferred location free of charge. It would certainly have been cheaper with a standard pitch, but nobody explained this to us on site. Unfortunately, you can't see on the parking map which pitches are standard, comfort or comfort L. We unknowingly opted for the most expensive category, which would not have been necessary at all. A differentiation on the park map would have been very practical. We saved a little with the ACSI Card. The access barrier to the park is open from 8am to 10pm, the WiFi is poor and you have to ask the staff for the password. It would have been handy if it could have been found in the documents. Unfortunately, the light in the sanitary facilities was broken on the first day. We reported this via social media and it was checked immediately. A new timer had to be installed so that there was no light in the evening and we had to shower/rinse with a flashlight. There was emergency lighting in the toilets. Fortunately this was repaired the next day. Check-in is possible from noon, check-out is possible until 1 pm. (November 2024)

(November 2024)

What a wonderful vacation park. Lots of nature and the cottages are placed in nature. The baby cottage contains two baby beds and chairs and also a baby bath. There are even some toys. One lack is a swimming pool though. There is a spray park but it is very loud. The water squirts out very hard. Indoor playground is small and cozy. There is also something to see in the area. Genk is a nice city to visit. Barefoot trail is definitely recommended!
